The issues handled
within the scope of the civil law are resolved within the scope of
the Family Law, which resolves the problems regarding affiance,
marriage, divorce, property acquiring, adoption, guardianship,
tutorship, alimonies, etc. Furthermore, the issues in connection
with the married or unmarried couples shall be concluded with
reference to the Family Law.
Turkish Laws do not include any provisions regarding the unchartered
marriages; however, regarding the kids of unchartered marriages the
provisions of the Family Law are involved. Both the marital and
non-marital children shall have the same rights. Issues like
domestic violence, kidnapping, becoming a parent via artificial
insemination, surrogate-motherhood, child abuse, children’s and
women’s rights are handled with reference to the international and
domestic laws.
