Ali AKYILDIZ

Prof. Dr. Ali AKYILDIZ was born in Osmaniye in 1959. Currently, he lectures at Baskent University Faculty of Law (Administrative Law) and he is head of the public law department.

Experiences and Missions outside of Academia

Served as a math teacher early in his career (1980-1986) since he graduated from mathematics department of educational institute(1976-1980). After graduating from faculty of law in 1984, he officiated as an inspector at the inspection council of Turkish Republic Directorate General of Foundations from 1986 to 1998(respectively, associate inspector, inspector, chief inspector). Receiving master’s and doctoral degrees whilst officiating at Directorate General of Foundations, his academic career has begun at university as of 1998.

Prof. AKYILDIZ gained countless experiences and carried out various duties apart from his academical and administrative assignments at higher education institutions(vice dean, 1999-2006; founding director of vocational school of justice, 2009-2016). Some of those are; legal advisor of TUBITAK(The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye), 2009-2011; member of the scientific council of T.B.M.M.’s (The Grand National Assembly of Turkiye) interparty constitution reconciliation committee, 2011-2013; legal counsel of ATO(Ankara Chamber of Commerce), 2018-2019; general president of T.H.E(Turkish Law Institute Association), 2011-2015. Then again, his opinions are benefited by some of the committees of the Turkish Republic Justice Department and also by the Justice Committee of The Grand National Assembly of Turkiye, on preparations of several laws such as administrative jurisdiction procedures law, anti-corruption law, general administrative procedures law, law of foundations, etc.
Additionally, he has supervised plenty of master’s and PhD thesis’; contributed both national and international meetings as member of organizing committee, speaker, or moderator; lectured as a visiting professor at a variety of higher education institutions such as T.O.D.A.I.E(Institute of Public Administration in Turkiye and the Middle East), Turkiye Justice Academy and some other universities.

Administrative law and administrative jurisdiction law are in the first place of his numerous studies but he also has works on constitution law, foundation law and sports law (public law aspect of the latter two).
