Olgun Değirmenci was born in Ankara in 1972. He graduated from
Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1995. In 2002, he became a
criminal law scientist (LLM) with his thesis on Computer Crimes, and
in 2006 he became a criminal law science doctor (Ph.D.) at Marmara
University with his thesis on Laundering Asset Values Arising from
Crime. He became an associate professor of criminal and criminal
procedure law in 2015 with his work on Digital Evidence in Criminal
Procedure. In 2020, he was promoted to professor in the department
of criminal and criminal procedure law.
He worked as a lecturer and faculty member at the National Defense
University. He mainly lectured on military criminal law and
disciplinary law.
Since 2016, he has been working as a faculty member in criminal and
criminal procedure law at TOBB University of Economics and
Technology, Faculty of Law. He teaches undergraduate, graduate and
doctoral courses on criminal law, criminal procedure law, military
criminal law, computer crimes, digital forensics and alternative
dispute solutions in criminal procedure.
There are many scientific articles and book studies published in the
fields of criminal law, international criminal law, computer crimes,
international crimes, military criminal law.
